The main goal of industrial design is to connect as efficiently as possible functional, aesthetical, and ergonomic elements of a product, most often with the use of new materials and technologies. It combines applied art with applied science.
Meopta – optika has its own atelier of industrial design led by an experienced designer Jana Vaňková. A number of Meopta brand products that passed through her hands were awarded the highest prizes in the Czech Republic in the industrial design area. The latest of these are Outstanding Design Award 97 (1997) for sport scope Hermes I and Outstanding Design Award 2005 (2005) awarded for binocular Meostar B.
