Environmental responsibility

Our business activities consistently respect requirements for improving the environment. We take it for granted that we comply with legislative requirements in this area. We implement a number of internal measures with the aim not only of minimizing the impact of our activities on the environment, but also of preventing possible impacts as much as possible.

We acquire and will continue to acquire technologies that meet the strictest environmental requirements. We strive for the highest possible recycling rate at all stages of production. We use greener, less harmful materials. We improve our processes and thus minimize the impact on the environment.

The company invests in solutions for environmentally friendly technologies and procedures in order to maintain a healthy environment and get a better view of the world

REACH

Meopta-optika, s.r.o., supports the objective of REACH 1907/2006 as amended - not to manufacture, place on the market or use substances that adversely affect human health or the environment, and it complies with all the obligations under this Regulation.

Meopta-optika, s.r.o., provides its customers with reliable information on substances of very high concern (SVHC), as required by Article 33 of the REACH Regulation.

Declaration on SVHC substances in items

Below is an overview of the most common SVHC that may be present in our products. Meopta has already provided its customers with information for items with contents of substances higher than 0.1 % by weight.

Meopta-optika, s.r.o., cooperates with its suppliers on the phasing out of all SVHC present in a concentration higher than 0.1 % by weight from their products (if suitable and reliable alternative solutions are available).

RoHS

Meopta-optika, s.r.o., complies with requirements of RoHS 2011/65/EU as amended, which lays down rules for the restriction of the use of hazardous substances (RoHS Annex II) in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in order to contribute to the protection of human health and environment.

Based on documents from the customer, Meopta-optika, s.r.o., evaluates EEE falling within the scope of this Directive (RoHS Annex I) while taking into account exempted uses (RoHS Annex III). We issue RoHS certificates on request.

TSCA

For the American market, Meopta-optika, s.r.o., complies with the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), Section 6 (h), issued by the EPA (US Environmental Protection Agency) - to restrict the use of persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic chemicals (PBT). We issue TSCA certificates on request.

CONFLICT MINERALS (Conflict mineral reports)

Meopta – optika, s.r.o., applies the 3TG legislation, which is part of Act No. 151/2021 and EU Regulation No. 2017/821, which are based on the recommended OECD regulations. This means that we do not use mineral resources and minerals from areas where the security situation is difficult, child labour is used to obtain them, and where the proceeds of these trades could be used to fund armed groups, human rights violations and to promote corruption and money laundering.

These "conflict mineral resources and minerals" include tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold.

Meopta - optika, s.r.o., only trades with companies that also comply with requirements of these laws and regulations, and it cooperates with its suppliers to ensure that their minerals and raw materials do not come from countries involved in conflict minerals.
