Completion of Production Facility Reconstruction

The reconstruction of production and operational facilities at the Přerov-based Meopta, a company specializing in cutting-edge optical technologies for global industrial, military, and consumer markets, took approximately one year. The facilities will be equipped with state-of-the-art machining tools for mechanical processing and production, primarily serving the semiconductor industry (microchip manufacturing).

"The construction of the second phase of our precision machining facility, featuring controlled temperature and humidity, advances our technological capabilities to meet the increasing demands for precision, quality, and controlled manufacturing environments required by our semiconductor industry customers," said Jan Vymazal, CEO of Meopta.

Tomáš Doušek, Director of the Mechanics Division, commented on the new facility: "This will be the first mechanics department designed not by technology but by product. In other words, the part will be manufactured in this space from start to finish, including surface treatment (passivation). The CNC machines will also feature automation in the form of a pallet system and a robotic arm."

Jan Vymazal added: "The total investment in the construction and technological equipment of these new facilities (precision machining technology and DUV) amounts to 720 million Czech crowns. Investments in technology and the development of high-value-added manufacturing are among Meopta's key priorities."

"A significant challenge of the project was logistics, as materials and equipment for the new facility were delivered through an opening measuring just 2.6 x 2.35 meters. Another remarkable aspect was the use of the largest telescopic crane in the Czech Republic, with a lifting capacity of up to 700 tons. The reconstruction also included the establishment of new employee locker rooms with a total capacity of 268 people. These centrally located locker rooms will serve most employees of the M1 production block and include new washrooms and a break room," said Michal Pohl, Director of PSG Construction's Otrokovice plant.

"I always appreciate the opportunity to collaborate with a company that, like our construction group, has a rich history, strong foundations, and a respected brand. Although reconstructions are never simple, I believe we have met the investor's expectations and look forward to potential future cooperation on other projects," said Peter Surovič, Chairman of the Board of PSG Construction, during the official handover.
